About Gina Grundemann
Gina Grundemann paints scenes and subjects that are largely inspired by the agriculture, architecture and landscapes of the west. The old dilapidated structures and the occasional dog or cow, represent a nostalgia for a rural lifestyle that is definitive and concrete. The world is chaotic enough that we often need a place of rest, away from the excess of technology and materialism.
The rural landscape has always been a strong influence in Gina’s imagery. The artist grew up in the Rocky Mountains of western Montana where she spent many weekends and summers on her grandparent’s farm. Since then, she has lived throughout the Rockies in Wyoming, New Mexico and Colorado. Gina currently makes her home near the San Juan Mountains in Montrose. She earned her B.F.A. from Colorado State University. The artist has exhibited in studio art tours, solo exhibitions, and juried group shows in Colorado and New Mexico.
