Gina Grundemann paints scenes and subjects that are largely inspired by the agriculture, architecture and landscapes of the west. The old dilapidated structures and the occasional dog or cow, represent a nostalgia for a rural lifestyle that is definitive and concrete. The world is chaotic enough that we often need a place of rest, away from the excess of technology and materialism. The rural landscape has always been a strong influence in Gina's imagery. The artist grew up in the Rocky Mountains of western Montana where she spent many weekends and summers on her grandparent's farm.
